Winter Wonderland

For my winter wonderland I think of a city in an urban world, where during the december solstice, when the night is longest in the northern hemisphere or day is longest in the southern hemisphere, the moon allow a loving couple to walk from one hemisphere to another. The housing projects act as a series of pedastals to or from the sands of the south.

As an insignia it represents power and high rank in the Afro-Brazilian socio-religious hierarchy. There is a recurrence of stylization of the carvings, mainly on the back and its upper part, containing symbols referring to the initiate's orixá, vodun or inquice. Belonging to the Laura Costa Santos vodunce (1904-1979) from Nação Ewe jeje, daughter of the Manezinho de Oxossi terreiro, the chair was donated by Walter Rocha in 1983
