What artists has truly inspired you, pick one?

August Wilson, the playwright. He wrote the play Fences which was made into a film with Viola Davis side Denzel Washington. I also saw those thespians on stage.

why has august wilson inspired me more than other artists who have inspired me? 

I must first say I can make this comment book length on why. But, I will focus on how August Wilson inspires me in an uncommon way. 

...

Art in all forms or fashions is unbounded in what humans can create/intake from it. Unfortunately while inevitably, all art is influenced by the relationship humans have to each other. Art from individuals in a human community that is subservient to another human community can become trapped in or show shackles from the reality beyond the individual imagination. 

August Wilson's plays are clearly set in Black communal spaces in the usa, but are not devoid the presence of potency from the white community in the usa. While the black characters or their space is not caricatured, an exaggeration, nor is the potency from whites outside of black spaces caricatured. 

Finally, the resulting message, all art has messages <yes, even the absence of a message is a message> , doesn't pigeonhole the spectator whether Black or non Black into a guided mindset. 

All my words above are give a short explanation to the difficulty in making art that publicly involves race while not caricaturing any race or guiding the mindset of those who ingest said art on how they shall think. 

The audience is not a fool, no one is, we all know the world beyond the individual imagination, whether we like it or not. 

But seeing with my own eyes, various peoples who clearly share different opinions, leave a theater with the same mindset they came in while experiencing a story that is specific and in every element relates to the various battles or histories outside the theater. 

That is not common for artists. 

To be blunt, Barbie from ruth handler, for colored girls from Ntozake Shange , Huckleberry finn from mark twain, various films from spike lee, the little mermaid films from disney... a long list of highly acclaimed beloved art, doesn't allow for interaction by all races without caricaturing a race or trying to massage minds to change while being clearly racial in design. 

That unique quality is what August Wilson was able to achieve as a writer and that ability to achieve a unique quality puts the spirt in me to achieve different but just as unique qualities in my own craft.

My Thoughts

I thought about accessibility. If accessibility was considered from the beginning of most processes it would undo alot of the schemes/scams/ aspects of entertainment/social media/wesbites or other. 
For example, I like the mandolorian show from Disney. If someone is blind and they can't see the Mandolorian maybe they have an audio read version available. So they can hear each episode absent commercials. But imagine if you are listening to an on demand film, like Godzilla,  like from TNT of the warner bros group in Discovery. Imagine you hear:"this thing killed my wife!, have you ever had bad bowels, Well try..." The commercial break is by default a terrible element. For someone who can only hear they are bound to hear a commercial where those with sight can mute and move on and come back. 
Accessibility if engineered optimally will delete many methods of commercialization in entertainment or media through electronic means.

of course anime is art, to be blunt, anime is an artistic movement that is centuries old based on art from Nippon, that like all movements has variations. 

What do you think as beauty in Art?
Beauty in art is complex because, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

- As a viewer, what is the first thing you look for in artwork?
first thing, i tend to find in art, not look for in art, but I read and view a lot of various art styles. One of the things about growing up in NYC as a kid, I was fortunate to have parents utilize the cities museums which cover all styles of art.

- As an artist, what do you value the most while creating?

I think this should make this the least dark new moon as the moon is farthest from earth.

The Balloon casing will be lighter than the dirigible which is solid but the dirigible casing will protect the volatile hydrogen from being influenced from outside better on average than a balloon the casing plus the dirigible casing will allow greater pressures inside on average than a balloon casing. At the end of the day, the studio system for the television was treated like the railroads for the car. Two working systems were busted up under the guise of antitrust, but functionally to aid a new industry in not having to deal with an old one that will be in recovery because of the changes. You can add it is like the Ma Bell being broken up when the Internet starts rolling strong. 
In retrospect , the film industry never recovered and now like Ma bell, like the trains, has recombinated after being forcefully broken up but the damage of those years has hurt the financial methodology.

Are you Eloi or Morlock?

I am an Eloi. The traveler didn't traverse everywhere, somewhere else the local morlocks had ate most of the local eloi and began to eat themselves, eventually, the local morlocks murdered themselves off, and most of the local eloi died off of starvation. But the eloi who survived used the local green palance and lucked up to learning. they thrived by one time invites from individuals among  other tribes of morlocks or eloi who  went against the grain. One day they left eart, the traveler, never knew of this clan of eloi.

Gratitude

Gratitude some say is being thankful or giving good will but in modernity I will suggest the best way to describe gratitude is spreading positivity to be positive. No one owes you positivity back for being positive to them just to be positive yourself. But, sharing positivity to be positive I think, is the best deterrent to negativity in all its forms as well as positivity for negative sake.
Speaking focusedly , as an artist, all other artists work i see allows me to absorb positivity even absent intent, cause the creativity to make any art can only add in the door stop of imagination to the door of the mind.

• August 11th-Catholic St. Clare, the patron saint of television- 1958 look it up , she was personal friends with Francis of Assisi, wrote the first rules of life for a catholic order by a woman, to her own, The Order of Poor Ladies. The order she started is the first catholic order to have a rule of poverty. patron saint of eye disease... I think she did use her time to write a lot. The story about her joining a convent and her father's anger and her arranged betrothed rage and francis's role or perceived role is pure telenovela:) her father:)

Everyone joins the Black complaint line in the usa

Growing up in the black community in the USA you always hear elders speak of nonviolent striving. The concept is simple. Follow the law, become a fiscal capitalistic mastermind, and you will wear down or upend the powers that be who allow themselves illegal growth or cheat fiscal capitalistic rules for their betterment.

But what you learn time and again as a Black person is not the futility of nonviolence. Nonviolence is not futile. But it has impotency against violent power. In the USA those in power achieved that power through violence. Nonviolence can't undo or overcome  that power to the enslaved/restricted/limited/impotent, it never has in human history< ethiopia/china/cuba/haiti/ireland unlike their peers or similars didn't achieve through nonviolence and the reason is clear> and I argue nonviolence will never undo violent power< if gandhi's movement in india, if the nonviolent adamant black community of tulsa oklahoma , if the native american's hyper green lifestyle long before the green movement of white hippies couldn't overcome violence, how can less honest or less focused attempts succeed?> 

I am not advocating violence from blacks to whites or the government system in the usa ... i am not advocating any impotent group utilize violence in the usa to their oppressor... but I am stating a simple historical fact. Power matters, power through violence isn't to be scoffed at, ownership through violence has a strength that is very strong. Those without the ability to gain power through violence or ownership through violence are not futile or dysfunctional but they have a ceiling of potency.

Now the following are two pleas. One from a latino of the usa and one from a woman of the usa, asking when the anglo, male, white owners or powerful will share power or share ownership?

What is some advice you would give to a new artist?

Was asked by RTNNightmare, and the following is my answer.

Try to always remember the difference between the creative life side the commercial life of an artist.
The creative journey is eternal. There is no time or place or judgement that can satisfy the artists creative destination. 
The proof will be in your future, when you make some heavy lauded work. Take two year after said work is lauded, and you will be more creatively unsatisfied with said work than two years ago.
The commercial journey is mortal, is straight forward. The goal is to make money using your art. The audience taste is the determinant. The ability for your work to get outreach is more important commercially than the work itself. 
Remember to find communities online that enjoy the art work you do or may enjoy it. You are just starting so commercially you don't have a name to be recognized so you must go to the people who may find your work interesting. 
The media tools will not direct them to you.

All of these people posthumously found commercial success that they were not even remotely close to when living. Does it mean that when they were alive their work was crap or creative garbage. No, creatively it was fine as all work is creatively fine. But commercially, it wasn't good enough. The Entertainment Industry Is Going The Way Of The Automotive In The USA

Fiscal Capitalism in the USA has always been about cheating. Fortunes made from stolen land, forced labor, auniversal illegal allowances, auniversal murder of competitors, dysfunctional financial trading systems all served and serve to grow and maintain the wealth of a certain group, not to invite competition or share wealth in the USA's history and in modernity to the global system the USA manages. And it isn't all doom and gloom for the USA. Western Europe, Korea, Japan  plus many others all require the USA to protect them from countries with true militaries. So the last bit of the Entertainment Industry <music/sport already went before film>goes the way of the automotive/electronic/real estate industry in the usa as dominated by foreign actors allowed by an open market that other countries with true militaries dont allow in their borders. The question is, with nothing but being a police man to most of humanity outside the usa while machines are able to do most uncreative jobs, what industries will be left in the usa for humans? and,.. will they be enough?

A rhapsody is a musical form where improvised or spontaneous bridges between musical segments not aligned to each other is made as one song. The original rhapsody was the person who interwove epic poems to speak, as epic poems are long and need improvised bridges.

Comprehending Race

You and others seem to think phenotypical race is or can be substituted for biological race. Again, each type of race has rules. Gender race <male/female/hermaphrodite>isn't based on the air. it is based on sexual organs within members of the same species. biological race<human/cro magnon/bluejay/tigershark/fern> isn't based on the sea. it is based on the variance of the dna molecule between species. phenotypical race<black/white> isn't based on the stars, it is based on appearance which is derived from elements of the dna sequence... between members of the same species. Linguistic race<anglo/latin/sino/bantu> isn't based on fire. it is based on the language someone speaks most effectively. Geographic race < african/european/asian> isn't based on the sun. It is based on the geography of where one's ancestry comes from. 

You and others seem to think, very erroneously, that discussion or concepts around phenotypical race can justify or prove that members of the same species are not members of the same species.  Who told you that? 

Yes , white europeans have tried to use and still try to use and do legalize to suggest or had laws stop that suggest phenotypical race or geographic race can can lead to a determination of a different species for humans with an appearance other than white or a geographic root other than european. But, that is merely a false conclusion that they used their military power to instill.  But that doesn't mean that any two  members of the same species are the same.   They are not. Similar? yes. Identical or essentially identical or near identical? 100% no.

Violet the Pantheress illustration

For the secret santa group on deviantart < LINK >,  all the participating members are given a secret  work of art they need to create in a given time. I was given work by  Olivertheplayer < LINK > . I selected Violet Pantheress and chose to make a still cartoon in light of the original pink panther film plus the pink panther cartoon while making Violet Pantheress the center of attention.

Below I made a coloring page and after that a colored page, which was presented in the group.

This began as a DTIYS, from an artist named Tofusenshi. But I saw an opportunity to do a lot more. I made a calligraphy, but I wanted to see how my calligraphy style coincided to a art side poetry form I learned from an artist known as Barosus. But I also wanted to see how I can utlize the PDF ability of Deviantart.

It took the author forever to make a point that truly mattered in my view. Said point was read books. I am glad she said it especially cause she is a black immigrant woman. I have repeatedly said for many years, as a DOSer male I was raised with black fiction in book world. I didn't need black panther made, I didn't need princess and the frog made, I didn't need the lion king and to be blunt, I had negative critiques from all those films before they came out. And I don't need similar film projects in the future.

Witches Pendant 3d Model

It all began with a Witchtember, a daily art prompt challenge, entry. The prompt was necklace. Where I made the following. Can you tell the spell of the pendant or the meaning of the Banners of Arms? Maybe you can guess the names of the two clans.

Happy Belated Juneteenth 

If you’re from the U.S., have you celebrated Juneteenth before? If you are from elsewhere in the world, are there similar celebrations of liberation in your area?
Yes, it is a tradition in my household, as well as Black Solidarity Day or Kwanzaa. All humans have celebrations of freedom cause all humans at some point were , or or will be enslaved by other... humans. I will add one thing. Freedom is important, but not all people's freedom is imagined the same. To restate, the assumption from many is that two people imagine each other free the same way, all to often that isn't true. It isn't is everybody free as much as, can everybody be free at the same time. It sounds obvious, but ... it usually isn't.

Happy Belated Solstice

May all be cool in the northern hemisphere summer, may all be warm in the southern hemisphere winter. A solstice is when the a pole is angled most toward the sun, thus causing the effect of the sun standing still. Another way of saying it, is the ecliptic , or axis based on the equator of the earth has the largest angle distance to a line from the sun center to the earth.

A Question Of Art

"What type of art do you want to learn/get better at making?"  
The easiest or most honest answer is all art. I have written poetry or other forms of literature for most of my life and it is just a process, no matter the awards or adulations offline or online. To my graphic work the same. 

Now, to answer your question. I need to learn or become more comfortable or suitable with digital art. Deviantart has great digital art tutorials from various members I have on a list to use one day.  Currently, I am working on learning + improving modeling art. It is 2d like  holograms not volumetric displays< the holodeck of star trek>. In a literature sense, in terms of work I am less experienced with, I am doing the July Jubilee stageplay contest and for my Black Games Elite group I will be working in the second half of the year on a literature based game.
I end with a simple message to any artists who may read my words. Be comfortable with what you are most comfortable in creating. If you like making stick figure comics, and never seem enthused to do anything else, then keep making stick figure comics. No shame exists in creating where you are happy. If, you feel you want to create in a less experienced field, remember, you are new there. All fields of art have tons of tutorials or guides or rules, but, if you have little experience respect that truth and be busy creating over technique. I have only done a few models and I know my technique as I create them can improve but at this stage I need to focus on creating and learning where I will like to create in the medium. So, do likewise to places you are new too. If you never wrote a poem before, finish the poem first and adjust it if you want, but focus on writing more poetry than appeasing the many rules on poetry.
